Having the NATO in Chicago was scarier than I could imagine. The strategy was to make it difficult to get to downtown, and easy to go home. Some policemen looked like they were ready to beat any protester while others were bored, talking to their colleagues or just checking their mobile phones. An average of 100 police officers for each protester, at least. In summary, contradictory messages were being sent everywhere. Video and pictures:
